There are three main beaches which make up Somers Foreshore and Reserve: to the West where Merricks Creek meets the sea is a small beach with shallow water nestled between Coolart Wetlands in Somers nature reserve and Somers Yacht Club; on the other side of the Yacht Club is a longer stretch of beach against sand dunes with a few meandering tracks to walk along; around a gentle bend where the water gets pretty deep is the third stretch of sandy beach which continues on to become a dog off leash beach. At the Eastern end of Somers is the beginning of Western Park Beach which stretches all the way to Sandy Point along parklands.
